American Oystercatcher about to open a bivalve

I took this photo last week on Dauphin Island, Alabama.
Dauphin Island is a long thin barrier island south of Mobile. The western 5 miles is a nature preserve with beaches on the Gulf coast to the south and the bay to the north. Fantastic birding!
